Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
This policy explains what data Gronsfeld Studio ("Gronsfeld", "we") collects when you use our apps — currently Pulse — or visit gronsfeld.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to every Gronsfeld app unless an app ships its own policy. We keep it short and honest: we collect the minimum our products need, and we do not sell your personal data.

What we collect
When you use our apps, we process the following categories of data:
- Account data — your e-mail address or the identifier shared by Apple or Google when you sign in, and the display name you choose. Guest accounts get an anonymous identifier instead.
- Gameplay data — your in-game progress and statistics: answers, scores, streaks, competitive standings, chosen topics, avatar selection, and achievements.
- Purchase data — subscription and purchase state confirmed by Apple (transaction identifiers and entitlements). Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Device and technical data — push notification token, time zone, app language, device model and OS version (via analytics), crash and performance diagnostics, and device-integrity signals used to protect our games from abuse.
- Advertising data — if you use a free tier with ads, our advertising partner processes device identifiers to show ads, subject to the tracking permission you choose in iOS (App Tracking Transparency).
- Support data — anything you send us by e-mail.
What we do not collect
Our apps do not access your contacts, photos, files, or precise location. All in-game imagery is published by our editorial team — there are no user uploads. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we never will.
Why we collect it
We use this data to:
- run the games — sync your progress across launches, match you with other players, deliver the notifications you subscribed to;
- keep play fair — verify purchases server-side, detect cheating and abuse, protect our backend from bots;
- improve our products — aggregated analytics tell us which features work and where players struggle;
- show ads on free tiers — this funds the games; paid upgrades remove ads;
- answer your support requests.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running the app you asked for), legitimate interests (security, anti-abuse, aggregated analytics), your consent (advertising tracking — asked via the iOS tracking prompt and revocable any time in iOS Settings), and legal obligations (purchase records).
Who processes data for us
We use a small set of service providers, acting on our instructions:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, cloud functions, analytics, push delivery, app integrity. Our game data is stored in Google Cloud data centres in the European Union. See Firebase privacy and security and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — advertising on free tiers. See how Google uses ad data.
- Apple — sign-in with Apple, purchases and subscriptions, push notification delivery. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
International transfers
Our primary storage is in the EU. Some providers (Google, Apple) may process limited data outside your country; they do so under recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Account and gameplay data are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account in an app, its profile and gameplay data are removed; purchase and audit records may be retained where the law requires it. Expired notifications and finished game sessions are cleaned up automatically.
Your rights and choices
You can, at any time:
- delete your account and its data directly in the app (Settings → Account);
- disable push notifications in iOS Settings or in the app;
- withdraw advertising-tracking consent in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking;
- ask us for a copy of your data, or ask questions, at contact@gronsfeld.com;
- complain to your local data-protection authority if you believe we handle your data unlawfully.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age your country sets for consenting to data processing). Do not use them if you are under that age.
This website
gronsfeld.com is a static site: it sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party trackers.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. Material changes will also be announced in the apps.
